Each Olympiad comes with, or sometimes in upstream, quantities of cultural, geopolitical, economical, etc. stakes. International communities and their protagonists grabs this event and hope to divert it to make their aspirations come true. 2008, China, the awaking mastodon, the teenager currently at the apogee of its own growth, who, same as South Korea in 1988 aims to establish its idea about its own place in the world.
Olympics are somehow the test exam for China to officially reach the status of a great nation. It's now the good occasion, or never, to validate its own idea about the world, in term of economy, sovereignty, geopolitic, international forces, international rights, human rights, etc.
The consecration of China will trigger a new deal about international establishment, settle it down for the upcoming decades. It's also now the good occasion, or never, for international community to make China fold about unavoidable and universal topics.
After this non-return point both parts will have to afford the consequences about what will have been established or not before the Olympics. To delight about any progress, or accept harmful aftermaths, those imposed to the China's growth shape in this strategical moment.
Supposing that the liberty of expression will become true one day in China, it's in the mastodon neighbour, the largest democracy in the world, which the democratic model do not seems to be harmful to the equal potential as China have ; so it's from India, that the Tibetan Youth Congress organization choose to discuss with China. They started an hunger strike to convince international community to boycott this event, to oblige China to correct its paper before the Olympics final exam.
